Design Skills

I am equally adept in navigating the ambiguity of early design development as I am diving into DFM and CAD detailing. Here's a glimpse at some of the methods I employ and key skills i leverage in during the design process.

Product Definition

Defining healthy project boundaries helps a team focus on fruitful spaces for concept exploration. I believe a strong project "backbone" of technology/trend landscape, user studies, and strategic analysis leads to ideas that best connect with users.

2D-to-3D Ideation

I lean on my ID fundamentals (sketch and form study) to create and capture ideas in a mixture of 2D and 3D forms. I find experiencing concepts early helps build a “believability depth” resulting in rich holistic concept directions.

Human Scaled

While I ideate big and broad during product exploration, my work is always grounded by realistic bounds of the human body. My knowledge of anthropometrics, strength and human movement help me excel developing design that fits us.

Model Making

I’m a proponent of getting ideas into users hands as early as possible. There is much to learn from interaction with real users that helps a team ensure they’re developing promising concept directions that match the context of use.

3D Realization

Aesthetic desires must be balanced by functional realities to create practical solutions. It’s here my advanced 3D visualization experience shines through transitioning conceptual vision into refined design intent.
